Carroll County Democrats gathered at the Grand Summit Hotel in Bartlett for the 11th annual Carroll County Democratic Committee Grover Cleveland Dinner. The evening began with a reception for outgoing Carroll County Chair Dorothy Solomon. Dorothy is now an even more valuable resource to all NH. Democrats being chosen to serve as Secretary for the State Democratic Party. We know she will perform with flying colors.
Highlights of the evening include - A very successful raffle sponsored by the Wolfeboro Democrats for an all expenses paid trip to Boston, admittance to Museum's, Dinner for two, and spending money - A huge thank you goes out to the Wolfeboro Democrats in making the evening a success. The trip was won by Betty and Bob Russell. Don Litchko, won two tickets to Al Gores new documentary film "An Inconvenient Truth" which was sponsored by the Carbon Coalition. Brochures and information on Global Warming were also part of our dinner program. The movie opened at the Majestic Theatre June 30th 2006.

George Cleveland has some fun impersonating Stephen "Grover Cleveland" (1837-1908) and gave a rousing speech to the over 200 hungry Democrats just before our dinner, to the honor of his grandfather. We are pleased to have increased exposure to Carroll County businesses represented in our dinner program. We have doubled our support since last year, thanks to the hard work by our fundraising committee. |
