In response to - McCain: 'There Will Be No Cooperation'

Here's the truth: the Republican Party is full of smug, spoiled children who would rather see people killed by greedy insurance companies than make any serious attempt to reform our corrupt and untenable health care system. Without shame or apology, they embrace the most bigoted, violent and hysterical elements in their base while thumbing their nose at duly elected officials and glossing over their own hypocrisy. They are the loyal opposition to everything that is good and possible, representing only fear, sneering disgust and myopia. Theirs is the politics of self-indulgence and intellectual retreat, by which I mean, decadence and decline. They never would have accepted any reform measure, because by definition, they are anti-reform, anti-change and anti-progress. They profit from stagnation and ignorance. And whenever this mindset suffers a catastrophic defeat, I get a little tear in my eye, just like I did yesterday.
