Education & Childcare
Strong public schools and affordable childcare are the backbone of our economy — and the heart of every strong New Hampshire community.
Carroll County Democrats are fighting to fully fund public education, restore state aid to local school districts, and expand early childhood programs so every family can find affordable, high-quality care. Our plan invests in proven programs — like childcare operating grants and school meal funding — that keep parents in the workforce, strengthen small-town economies, and give every child a fair start no matter their family’s income.
We know great schools don’t just help kids — they lift entire communities. They keep young families here, protect property values for retirees, and sustain the quality of life that makes Carroll County special. That’s how we keep the next generation learning, working, and giving back.
But Kelly Ayotte and the GOP have taken us in the wrong direction. Their private-school voucher scheme has exploded to nearly $87 million, mostly benefiting families who could already afford tuition, while local schools are left to scrape by. Their budget slashed higher-education funding, eliminated income limits on vouchers, and drained millions from local classrooms — raising property taxes and shortchanging the next generation.
Democrats have a better plan: strengthen neighborhood public schools, make childcare affordable for every working family, and invest in education that keeps our communities strong — for today’s students and for the generations that built this county.
